Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor held its 30th annual Pat Guglielmo Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament on August 21st & 22nd

This year there were 46 participants of all ages ranging from 8 years old to over 65 years of age! The weather fully cooperated with both days being great for Miniature Golf. As in the past many families participated. It was an exciting year for ties and playoffs we had three of them!

There were ties for first and 3rd place in the upper tier and 2nd place in the lower tier. Al Voytek of Higganum and Alex Butensky of Farmington Dueled it out in a 18 hole playoff for first place.  Al was the victor by one stroke over last year’s winner, Alex. He scored a 40, 8 under par for the round. Ron Asslin of New Britain and Tim Stratton of West Hartford were tied for third place and tied again after a nine hole playoff, which went into sudden death.  On the very next hole Ron won by 2 strokes.
Prizes awarded included $100.00 first place, $50.00 second place, $40.00 third place, $20.00 fourth place, $15.00 fifth place as well as many hole in one prizes, baseball caps, T shirts and raffle prizes. Trophies were also awarded for the two top spots of each tier.

As in the past golfers were divided into 2 tiers. In the lower tier
Fred Schwab III of Westbrook placed 1st he moved up from the 3rd place last year. The lower tier playoff for second place went to Sean Kilpatrick of New Britain , he won by 4 strokes with Matt Deneen of Avon coming in 3rd. Donations from the event netted $738 which will be split between the Jimmy Fund/Uconn Children’s Cancer Fund.               2010 Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament Results

Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor held its 29th annual Pat Guglielmo Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament on August 21st & 22nd.

This year there were 52 participants of all ages ranging from 9 years old to over 60 years of age! Saturday was the perfect day to start the tournament with nice warm morning temperatures and blue skies. Sunday was a different story, with sprinkles at 7am and a steadier rain starting around 8:30 but the players wanted to play and the contest went on. The new greens that were put down in July made the course play different and those that had the opportunity to practice beforehand definitely benefited. This year we had many families participate with some families having as many as 4 members playing!

Alex Butensky of Farmington placed 1st with a 123 total for the 3 rounds, 21 under par. Mike Huppert of Coventry came in 2nd with a 126 total, 18 under par, and Brian Coscina of New Britain came in 3rd after a 9 hole playoff with Jason Correia. Jason then took 4th place with John O’Leary solidly in fifth place.

Prizes awarded included $100.00 first place, $50.00 second place, $40.00 third place, $20.00 fourth place, $15.00 fifth place as well as many hole in one prizes, baseball caps, T shirts and raffle prizes.

As in the past golfers were divided into 2 tiers. In the lower tier
Todd Livingston of Washington came in 1st, Katie Ouellette of Farmington came in 2nd, and Fred Schwab III of Westbrook placed 3rd. Donations from the event netted $865 which will be sent to the Jimmy Fund/Uconn Children’s Cancer Fund.

Next year our 30th Annual Pat Guglielmo Memorial Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday August 20th & Sunday August 21st, 2011. Start practicing and mark your calendars now!

2010 Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament Results

Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor held its 28th annual Pat Guglielmo Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament on Sunday August 23RD  2009.  Due to inclement weather and a dubious weather forecast the event was postponed on Saturday and held as a one day two round tournament on Sunday.  Usually it is three rounds in two days.  Sunday turned out to be perfect miniature golf conditions, sunny and quite warm.
This year there were 39 participants of all ages ranging from 3 years old to over 60 years of age! .

John O’Leary of Torrington placed 1st with two identical rounds of 38 ending up 20 strokes under par for the two rounds.  Low scores of the tournament were shot by both Alan Horowitz of West Hartford (last year’s winner) and C.J.Griffin of Canton this year’s runner up and past winner.  John appeared to have been more consistent quite possibly due to all those practice rounds he had played here all through the summer.

Prizes awarded included $100.00 first place, $50.00 second place, $30.00 third place, $15.00 fourth place, $10.00 fifth place as well as many hole in one prizes, baseball caps, T shirts and raffle prizes. We also rewarded the best dressed and the youngest player, this year being Wil Dwyer @ 3YEARS OLD.  Way to go Wil!!!

As in the past golfers were divided into 2 tiers. In the lower tier Kyle Robbins of W. Simsbury outdueled Conrad Sienkewicz of Torrington in a nine hole playoff round to capture 1st  place, and Jean Robbins (Kyle’s Mom)  placed 3rd. Donations from the event netted $620  which will be sent to the Jimmy Fund/Uconn Children’s Cancer Fund. Next year our 29th Annual Pat Guglielmo Memorial Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday August 21st & Sunday August 22nd, 2010. Start practicing and mark your calendars now!
