Equipment & Play
- You must use balls from the clubhouse. Do not use your own golf balls. Use of any other ball will result in disqualification.
- All players must hit from the tee.
- Your ball is played from where it lands. If your ball jumps the rail, hits an outside obstacle, and comes back into play, it is ruled in play with no penalty.
- If your ball drops in the hole and then jumps out, the ball is ruled not in the hole.
Ball Movement & Relief
- You may move your ball up to 6 inches from any obstacle or wall. Use the long side of the scorecard to measure this distance. If you are not the one keeping score, you may ask for an extra scorecard to use as a measuring tool.
- If your ball gets stuck inside a chute or gully, you may tap it again or re-drop it from the start of the chute or gully depending on the situation. No penalty applies.
- Any time a ball must be picked up and replaced, a penalty stroke is added. You must replace it where it last crossed in play or back at the tee. Example: if your ball rolls all the way back to the tee on Hole 6, you are playing your third shot from the tee.
- Bridge Rule — Hole 11 (Ball in Water): If you pick your ball up from the water on Hole 11, you may place it one scorecard length from the wall on the other side of the water. This is an exception to the penalty rule for picking up your ball and placing it where it last crossed.
- If a ball is in the direct path of play after a tee shot, you may ask the player to play out the hole or lift the ball. The player may also elect to do so on their own. The ball must be in the direct path to the cup when making this request. If your ball is hit by another player's ball, you may keep the new position or reclaim the old one.
- If a ball is in the path of your swing when taking your second shot or beyond, you may ask the player to mark and lift the ball. The player may also elect to do so on their own. The ball must be in the player's swing path when making this request.
Group Play & Flow
- Once all players are on the course, anyone arriving late will be disqualified. We never do that.
- After all players in the group tee off from the rubber tee pad one after the other, the player closest to the hole putts first and finishes the hole. The next closest putts next, and so on. Play as a group, not as individuals.
- No "gimmies." All players must finish the hole. Six stroke maximum per hole.
- Once your round is complete, please do not disturb other competitors. Watch from the spectator area, from outside the fence, or in unoccupied areas of the course well away from the final competitors.
- If a question arises during play, stop immediately and ask for a ruling. The ruling is final.
Scoring
- Please write clearly.
- Initial all scoring corrections.
- Check your score periodically. You may carry your own card if you wish.
- Your score is not official until all players in your group sign the scorecard. Do not sign until the card has been inspected.
- Return the original scorecard. Do not change cards.
- If you sign a scorecard with a score lower than what you actually received, you will be eliminated from the tournament. If you sign with a score higher than what you received, you will receive the higher score. If your addition is incorrect at turn-in, we will go by the individual hole scores on the card unless informed otherwise.
Tournament Format & Prizes
- After three rounds, the field will be divided into a higher and lower tier based on scores. Cash prizes will be awarded in each tier depending on the number of participants.
- In the event of a tie for the top three places in the upper tier, a 9-hole playoff will take place, followed by sudden death if still tied. A tie for first in the lower tier will also result in a 9-hole playoff followed by sudden death if still tied.
19th Hole & Bonus Balls
- Bonus balls are $2 each or 3 for $5, played on Hole 19.
- A hole-in-one on Hole 19 earns a free game. All proceeds benefit the Jimmy Fund.
- Players may also play Hole 19 with their regular course ball after all three rounds are completed, as normal.
